Hifza and Christina are your PBSC Program Coordinators. We organize volunteer projects with Partner Organizations and Lawyer Supervisors, and recruit and train student volunteers. We are eager to build excitement about access to justice initiatives and public interest law at UVic this year!

Lauren Oswald
Lauren is an incoming 1L student at UVic Law. She earned her BA (Hons.) in Political Studies from Queen’s University and her MA in Applied Politics at Wilfrid Laurier University. She has experience in administration and event planning in both professional and academic settings and is excited to bring those skills to her role as Event Coordinator with PBSC. She was drawn to PBSC because of its commitment to improving access to justice and looks forward to contributing to the UVic Chapter while becoming more involved in the law school community! Outside of school, Lauren enjoys playing basketball, travelling, and spending quality time with her friends and family
1L Representative
Trishant Gill
Trishant was born and raised in Surrey, British Columbia and completed his BCom at UBC Sauder, specializing in Business Technology Management. Before his 1L, he worked at Fraser Health, CPABC, and boutique law firms across the Lower Mainland. Having previously been involved in pro bono work, Trishant appreciates the value in empowering law students to advance meaningful community causes. He’s most interested in PBSC’s legal research and writing projects. Outside of law school, Trishant is an avid Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu hobbyist and enjoys taking his Cockapoo, Sprinkles, for walks!

Chelsea
Chelsea is a 2L at UVic Law, that came to law after many years in healthcare and institutional leadership, most recently directing multi-site laboratory operations at Island Health. Along the way, Chelsea served on several non-profit boards including Board Chair of the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre, and Board Chair of the Red Cedar Cafe. In her free time Chelsea enjoys doing trivia with friends, reading, travelling and snowboarding.
Blake Robertson (He/Him)
Blake recently graduated from SFU with a joint major in Business and Philosophy. He was the co-chief of SFU’s undergraduate philosophy journal and taught as a TA over multiple semesters. He is interested in access to justice and hopes to pursue a career in legal aid or public-interest law. Outside of school, he enjoys listening to music, playing guitar and basketball, going to concerts, and taking long walks.
